Great Ports, Let down by a nosiy stateroom that was not fit

Sail Date: August 2014
Destination: Europe - British Isles & Western
Embarkation: Southampton

This was our first Princess Cruise, overall it would have been a mainly positive experience, but we were let down by Princesses greed who sell cabins to passengers that are not fit for purpose,

I have since found a previous review by a person in the same block, wish I had seen this before we cruised.

It was a shame because we loved our cabin steward and we loved the layout of the room, but sadly we are human and we do need to sleep.

We thought the food was ok, it would have been even better if we had any green vegetables with our main course other than carrots for the first 7 nights!!! Even upstairs in the Horizon court they had a lovely roast joint but no green vegetables,

Why do Princess hide stuff away, there was lovely scones in the afternoon but no cream , eventually we found out there is cream but you have to ask for it. At breakfast in Horizon court there is no English bacon unless you asked for it and then they would produce it from some More hidden cupboard!!!!!!!!

We didn't think the staff attitude was anywhere near the service on Celebrity, we saw several staff members being quite rude and surly to elderly passengers, throwing their eyes up in the the air etc and banging plates down in front of them at the dining table.

The deck hands /security did not enforce the pool rules regarding babies in diapers in the hot tubs or the adult pool, consequently we didn't use them at all a first for me on a cruise!!!!

To end on a positive note we thought all the staff in the International cafe were excellent, friendly and efficient, even though they were some of the busiest people on the ship.

We thought the entertainment was also very good, although we thought some of the scheduling was a little off we had second seating dining, which meant we missed several things we wanted to see.

The ports of call were all good as expected and while we disappointed not to dock in Invergorden we are sure the Captain made the right choice, and although the seas were rough for the additional sea day we didn't feel any discomfort.

Would we sail Princess again only for the right price and being very careful about where our cabin was!!!!! Less

Cabin review: Ruby Princess A624

This was the noisest cabin we have ever endured on any of our 30+ cruises, wish I had found the review that someone did of A629 before we sailed. This ruined our first experience of Princess and what I find particularly insulting is the 6 people who traipsed through our cabin causing my husband to get dressed and undressed 3 times, when the noise could be clearly heard outside, The Guest relations manager was useless and didn't take any action until I met the hotel services officer at the cruise critic meeting, after 2 days we were then moved to a much quieter cabin in the same category, one that was fit for purpose!!!!!!!!
