Our First Cruise Was Excellent!

Sail Date: April 2014
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

We went in group of 5 people ranging from age 38 to 82. All of us had a blast on and off the ship.

The boat: Never doing a cruise before we were amazed at the grandeur of the experience. The boat is beautifully decorated in a modern designer theme. The ship which was only a few years old was spotless and clean throughout the voyage. Crews were constantly cleaning and painting making sure everything was perfect. Our room was cleaned twice a day at least maybe even three times? My wife who is a stickler for cleanliness was amazed and felt right at home in the cabin and throughout the ship. The outdoor amenities were great, pool, hot tubs, deckchairs were clean and functional. The food was stellar. We live in Canada but in a predominantly Italian area where we have many good Italian restaurants too choose from. The dinners were on par with many high end fancy Italian restaurants that we would normally have to pay over $50/per person. Plus on board they feed you till you burst! More Buffet was always inviting and had something to eat. Entertainment crew did a good job keeping people moving and dancing at night. The theater was very entertaining. The cast has many different skills which they bring together very well. Sitting in there watching the shows made you feel like you are not even on a ship doing 23 knots!

Ports of Call:

We went to St.Maarten, Roadtown & Great Stirrup Cay. We did tours on the first two which showed us the Island by tour bus. Both were very safe and interesting. We did tourist shopping on both tours and tried local foods at the rest stops. The beaches were nice and the local people were very friendly.

Great Stirrup Cay was a beach day and we enjoyed a relaxing day at the beach. You can see many marine animals in the water and can snorkel with or without a tour package. Food was good even though they had to setup on the beach for the day to feed you. If you stay late they run out of drinks and water from the machines so be warned to bring extra bottle of water as it could get hot there.

We liked this trip so much we are going back again in September 2014 to do Western Caribbean. We can't wait. Less

Cabin review: 9105

The room was spacious and clean. The water in the shower was always hot and consistent. The room service was constantly cleaning the room which was a plus for us. The daily information packages were good to look through and informed us on things we could have missed.

Port and Shore Excursions

The tour bus driver and bus were great fun. The driver at first was hard to understand with his heavy island accent but we got used to it and he has endless stories to tell us at each stop and during the tour. He also slowed down to show us various animals and plants that you may not be familiar with. The tour guide also was very good about being a few minutes late for departing. We got to see the Bomba Shack and the bus driver sang a song about it which sounded funny.
