Ship Facts: Celebrity Silhouette Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Celebrity Silhouette Deck Plans
Fabulous First time cruise

Celebrity Silhouette is a beautiful sleek floating palace, this was a first ever cruise and we certainly picked a great ship to start. Embarkation was fairly smooth despite the large number of people boarding the ship and first impressions as we arrived on deck were "wow, is this really a ship" Following a welcome drink we found our good size cabins on the 7th deck with verandah and settled on the Port side of the ship for our trip through Venice. This was a truly amazing experience, one I will never forget.

The food on board was excellent with plenty of choice. We dined in the main dining room on select dining so we could choose our times for dinner. Breakfast and lunch we ate in the OceanView cafe which had so much choice. Staff on board the ship were amazing, friendly, helpful and efficient. Entertainment staff were all enthusiastic and willing to have a go. We watched the theatre shows most nights - some were good like the Broadway nights musical review, a cirque du soleil type show and Jon Courteney who was a pianist/comedian. Others were not quite so special.

Shops on board sold rather pricey gifts, watches and jewellery but there was plenty of choice if you had plenty of money. The pool areas were always clean and pool butlers were vigorous in getting rid towels left on beds that remained unoccupied for more than half an hour. There is plenty of shade if the sun became too hot - we were blessed with glorious weather on our cruise.

All ports were fabulous althugh two were tendered and this does take time when disembarking the ship - Corfu in particular resulted in a delay of over two hours leaving the ship which really curtailed our private tour of the Island. The layout of the Silhouette means no-one feels they are in the deepest depths of the ship as the lifts are all open and stairwells are also well designed to give a light airy feel to the ship - I was gobsmacked most of the time that we could actually be on a ship at all. There was no discernable movement at all when the boat was sailing - all in all an amazing experience and one we will be repeating again - definitely with Celebrity and probably with the Silhouette - a lovely name for a lovely ship.........
