In depth review but things you might need to know: Great embarkation, no time at all.
Cabanas on board: There are only 5 of them. I took a train from Orlando to Miami, the day before, so I could be the first on board to get one. Two terminals that board the ship. Unfortunately, the other terminal let them on board first. Ran to guest services and only a few people ahead of me. I didn't get the cabana. Don't get your hopes up in getting one. Tried to get an appointment with Hotel Director but was granted a meeting with guest service manager. She was gracious and listened. She advised me someone had cancelled the cabana this morning and she asked if I still wanted one. Of course I did. What a wonderful feature to have on a ship. Up on 17th deck key, card programmed to get into the Vibe. open from 7am-11pm. Bar open from 9am-7pm. Great place to see the stars and the fireworks. Most days, not many people and you have it to yourself on Port Days. Comfortable lounge chairs and a insulated well to keep your items there throughout the cruise. Bottle water will stay cool. Fruit skewers available at the bar or delivered to you. Cookies on one day and cold towels handed out or at the bar. 2 hot tubs. Big open shower to cool off in. The cabanas are $299 for 2 people for the week with a $100 on-board credit for food and drinks at the Vibe bar. For regular lounge cushioned chairs I believe the price was $79 for the week. Nice and quiet area for adults only. Best place to relax on board.
Balconies on regular balcony rooms 2 chairs and a little table. Smaller than most balconies but still okay to sit outside.
Spa Pass -$199 for the week, 109 for 3 days -spa is not as spacious as the other ships and there is no outside door or windows to let out the chlorine smell from the pools. Cancelled my spa pass after an hour. Salt room was interesting! Different fell any different, Sauna was great. In the ladies or men's locker rooms there wasn't a sauna or steam room, like some of the other ships. Sauna and steam rooms were out in the spa area, so in other words; co-ed rooms.
Smoking on this ship is not accessible but at the bar in the Vibe, Sunset Bar & Mojito Bar outside bars on boardwalk. A small enclosed plexiglass cage, LOL on the pool deck, the humidor and a small portion of the casino. Smoker's beware: NCL fleet-wide is going to stop allowing smoking on balconies starting Nov. 1, 2014 unless we start speaking out which we normally never complain or speak out. Lots of people on this cruise, smoked. Smoke rooms and these bars were always packed. For the first time, I didn't buy any cruise reward deposits.
The cabin - Balcony forward had plenty of storage space and bathroom.shower were a little larger than normal with shelf space for personal products. Coffee maker with tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the room. If you have a port side balcony you can watch the fireworks from your balcony.
For Latitudes Gold and Platinum members: take the mini ship tour. It is only for you not you and a guest. Best one yet on this ship. Went through the laundry room, galley and down into the lower decks. Security is top-notch on this ship.
Reservations required: make reservations for Legally Blond show, the Levity Comedy shows, Illusionarium, Howl at the Moon, Burn the Floor, If it is a pretty full ship then you are not able to get into the shows.
Those that are dancers: a lot of ballroom classes including salsa, tango, etc. through out the cruise, every day there was at least 2 classes available held by the dancers of the Burn the Floor. Also Dancing with the Stars is done with cruise director's staff and passengers. A lot of opportunity to dance on this cruise with good dance music. Music on board is everywhere and they are great musicians. I find these musicians and all the music on this ship to be the best in the fleet.
Adult pool much smaller and deck space by the pool is limited, but there was so many adults by the kid's pool anyway. Kids have a blast in this pool area.
Entourage for children - my nephews said this was the best ship and they have been on many of the NCL ships. Also the rope courses, rock climbing wall, and all the water slides are a kid's heaven. For smaller children - Dora and Diego are everywhere and all kinds of fun with the characters. Pajama Party, etc.... Nickelodeon characters and great kids pool area.
Overall Cruise - very good
Single travellers - Studios - special key access, your own lounge area with bar and snacks in the same vicinity. Very safe and secure. Small cabins but efficient with plenty of storage space. Not a cabin you want to stay in the room much but serves the purpose of sleeping.
