We have just returned from a two week Mediterranean cruise on the Thomson Dream. We have cruised with Thomson before, and booked this cruise based on our previous good experiences. Sadly it did not live up to our expectations. It was an all-inclusive cruise, but clearly "all inclusive" did not include water supplied to our cabins. We were without water for 15 hrs and some people were without it for at least 3 days. The only place where one could get a shower was in the corridor outside our cabin where it was pouring from the ceiling due to a burst pipe! We were given a complimentary 1.5 ltr with which to wash ourselves. Hardly adequate in temperatures of 30 degrees plus! As fast as the pipes were repaired another leak appeared elsewhere.

The towels we were issued with were threadbare (some actually had holes in) and mostly grey in colour. I would be ashamed to offer them to a guest.

The safe (for which we had paid an exorbitant £25) was so unreliable that we stopped using it.

We were given just two pillowcases for four pillows. Surely not acceptable in an environment where hygiene is of the utmost importance.

However, the staff, especially in the Orion restaurant, were always friendly and helpful. It was because of thus that we were able to enjoy the actual cruse and do have lots of good memories too. The entertainment was first class. I do feel that these employes who work so hard are also let down by a company that doesn't seem to care.

Since our return I have done some research, and find that these problems are far from new, and should have been sorted out long ago.

The ship needs taking out of commission.

The delightful Captain often referred to the Dream as "Our Proud White Lady"

Unfortunately there is very little to be proud of, and we won't be cruising with Thomson's again.

Cabin review:

Spacious, plenty of storage space but very dated.
