We traveled to Florida about a week before the cruise. My husband and i got married two days before on Miami Beach so the cruise (and the whole trip) was our wedding and honeymoon in 1.
Before the cruise we stayed in The Palms Hotel and Spa in Miami beach. It was pricey but really worth it. It was wonderful.
We rented a car at the beginning of our trip (Alamo) and returned the car at the Fort Lauderdale airport on the morning of the cruise. From there we took a cab to the port. Al pretty easy. Supposedly there should have been a shuttle at the airport from Alamo, but we couldn't find it. We chose to pay the 15 dollars for a cab (including tip).
Our room was at the back of the ship on the eleventh floor. Location of our room was good. No noise at all! That surprised us a bit. We were afraid that you would experience some noise of neighbors or people in the hall etc. But as soon as you shut your cabin door, it was quiet. The cabin was very spacious (we had an outside balcony room). It was wonderful to stand on your own balcony in the morning and watch the ship go into a port. Our roomattendend was really nice and made our trip even more enjoyable. He actually comes in the room twice a day to tidy up and prepare the room for day or night (make beds etc...).
