My wife and our 2 children (18 and 24) and our daughters (24) boyfriend went on the NCL Pride of America Cruise. IT was the best family vacation ever. The quality of our Suite 10178 was so very very nice. The balcony was nearly as large as the room if not larger. We slept out on the deck on the large lounge chairs (3) and 2 regular chairs where there. Would have been nice to have more than the 1 small side table out on the deck. The bar was above us and you could barely see the balcony from above.
The steam room and sauna were great as were the exercise classes as well. Not sure why they shut down the gym rooms so early at 8 or 10 pm when the ship is 24 hour.
Food was great...and the upgraded food from our suite for breakfast and lunch was used once we realized it was an offering.
Passport made our getting on and off ship easier especially getting on the 1st time.
Shore excursions can be planned on your own. Our helicopter ride was 170 per person verses on ship price was nearly 300.
We found getting off the ship and finding a good cabbie to take us where we wanted to go was great.
We found out of the way places at every port that way.
Pool was not nearly as "party" as all the carnival curises we have taken. Our children were looking for the "party" atmosphere that rarely happened. The "teen options" were very very limited on the cruise ship.
We would highly recommend this cruise and spend the extra monies for Suite 10178.
