Norwegian Getaway Cruise Review by southphilly: Beautiful Ship

This was our first time going on Norwegian. We were a group of 19 people. Was little nervous because I read a lot of negative reviews. Im a picky person with food and everything under the sun. Well I must say that the whole group had a blast!!!!!
Embarkment was fast and easy as well as leaving the ship also. As soon as we got onto the ship which was about noon. We walked around and had lunch in Osheenans. It was a sit down and you can order off the menu. Wings, spinach dip, mozzarella sticks, chicken sandwiches, hot dog, corn beef andwiches which all was good. The garden cafe which is buffet style was very crowded and filled with kids running around. We did have breakfast there later in week and it was little better. They had everything from made to order omelets and waffles and pancakes. O sheeenas had breakfast as well and you can order eggs and french toast from a menu and its much more quieter. We ate lunch in there as well every day. The kids went there also. More
DINNER We ate in a speciality resturant every night. Cagneys by far best one to go to. Steaks, shrimps and lobster with pasta. The chef Wayne Anthony came out to talk to our group many times. He was awesome and would make us whatever we wanted. Moderma was just ok. That the brazillian place. The italian place was just ok also. Pizza , pasta and different meats. We went to Cagneys 3 times because i read reviews before we left saying that was the best place and i agreeded. My girlfriend was 50 on the cruise and we told them and they brought her a beautiful cake from carlos bakery to celebrate her birthday. Desserts at these resturants were just ok nothing special.
There was a soft serve ice cream machine at garden cafe just thru doors by the pool. The kids went every day to get it.
We went to see Burn the floor and it was excellent with great dancers. Was bout hour and half long. Legally blonde was great also. We saw a comedian show and he was funny also.
The cabin we had was mid ship balcony. It was the same size of any other balcony cabin. Only complaint was the balcony it was sooooo small . We had 3 cabins in a row so my husband open all the doors in between and it made it a lot roomery. If have to do it urself they wont do it. They did close them a few days but we just opened them again. We opened them with cork screw.
The kids had a awesome time on the water slides. They stayed there all day. The adult pool which is steps away is very smallllll for 3000 people and very crowded on sea days. The pool games were very fun specially for my kids and husband who did the sexy legs contest and the miss getaway contest, I laughed so hard watching them. It was soo funny when you know the person in the contest. I must say the staff the waiters bar people around the pool serving drinks were soooooo friendly and went out of there way to get you what you needed. They were always singing and dancing. Best staff out of all the ships Ive been on.
The parties on H2O were alot of fun and we did bring our kids to them. The white night was a lot of fun. Make sure you bring white clothes for your family if you plan to go. They give out all kinds of light sticks. They also had a 80s and 90s party they were so much fun also. Its on the top deck outside. My kids had so much fun there 13 year old and 18 and 22. They do lack clubs for the older one. There was only one called Bliss which he said was fun but was the onlu one on board. Would reccomend this ship to all ages. The ship is full of energy always something going on where ever you go. The only bad thing is that I am home now and its all over. Less
