We recently cruised on the Royal Caribbean Vision of the Seas for a 5 night Western Caribbean cruise stopping at Key West and Grand Cayman. Our group consisted of my husband and me, our two daughters and another family of four. We had a wonderful time and the experience definitely exceeded our expectations.

Embarkation was fairly easy with about a 15 minute wait in line. We boarded the ship and had a mediocre lunch in the Windjammer. Our staterooms were ready at about 1:30pm so we were quickly able to unpack and then we walked around the ship. We headed up to the main pool for the fun Sailaway Party, bought the drink of the day (Pirate’s Punch for $6.75) and we were in vacation mode. That night we attended the comedy show (pretty good) and watched the “Frozen” aerial performance (so lame).

Day 2 we docked on Key West. We had a great breakfast at the Windjammer and then headed off the ship. We had a map of Old Town so we just did our own walking tour. It was very hot so in hindsight it would have been nice to take the trolley tour or the conch train tour. We had a few drinks and snacks including delicious Key Lime Pie at Kermits (200 Elizabeth St). We went back on board to take a much needed swim and then ordered a light snack from room service. After dinner, we attended the Broadway show and the very fun Poolside White Dance Party (bring something white to wear).

Cabin Review

Our stateroom was at the end of a tiny hallway off the main hallway. We were at a dead end that had a staff only door. This made our room very quiet with no foot traffic. The last night there was a bit of noise because there is a staff area on the other side and they were handling the luggage.
