Carnival Splendor July 2014 Eastern Caribbean

Sail Date: July 2014
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: New York (Manhattan)

Long, long, time boarding in NY, Mob scene. We arrived at the pier at 12:20

Luckily, weather was great all week

The Stateroom and dining room staff were excellent.

The food was good most of the time.

The excursions did not match what was in the brochure

Dissapointed with Grand Turk beaches ( rocky ) and excursion

St Thomas was the best, especially Megans Bay beach.....beautiful but they only gave us 2 hours there

Stores closed early in San Juan, a vey busy place on a Sat nite.

Very short times in each port, always rushing back to the ship , then waiting in long lines to board.

I thought the ship was overcrowded, 3600 passengers, supposed to be 3000 ?

Spent long time waiting for tables and food at the buffet, no plates, no silverware at times, did not go there after 2nd day.

We found the brunch to be a good option

Main dining room and staff were good.

Entertainment was More good.

Overall it was "OK" , not as good as RCL. Had a good time with the group we were with. Not likely to sail Carnival again.

Will likely go back to RCL for the next one, hopefully out of Bayonne.

Would love to do the Oasis or Allure out of Fl....someday

You don't really know how a ship or Cruise line is until you experience it yourself.
