July 25 Boston to Bermuda
Our 3rd cruise from Boston to Bermuda was perfect. We travelled with a family of 6, with 2 people over 55; and 4 "kids" in their 20s. Embarkation was easy and smooth. We took advantage of free wifi in the terminal and on board . We enjoyed lunch at the Buffet as soon as we boarded. Our state rooms were very roomy. Eighth floor, obstructed portholes (not really obstructed...very good views out the large window.) We enjoyed a captan's reception with free cocktails and a sailaway barbecue. We enjoyed our dinners in the Venetian Restaurant. The food portions were much larger than before ...(too large in my opinion) and the dessert menu was too extensive! The warm chocolate volcano was amazing. All entrees were delicious (except the chicken park for some reason) Service was great. If there was a wait to be seated, we were given a coupon for a complimentary champagne or soda while we waited in the lounge with a beeper. We tried the Aqua one night, and found the service to be slower, the More
atmosphere was more causal and noisy, and decided to stick with the Venetian. We had professional family photos taken and they did a great job! The entertainment was ok. Second City Comedy was a favorite. The other performances were ok...something to do, but not noteworthy. The band at the pool was very talented. We took Zumba class, which was fun to do on the top deck! Also the gym was great.
Our room steward was kind and polite. Once he forgot our pillow mints , and the next night left a giant pile to make up for it!
One of our party had a birthday and a special cupcake was delivered to the room, with a song. So cute!
At dinner, the waitstaff sang and gave a large pice of cake for our entire table.
Arrival in Bermuda was on time and we disembarked quickly, by 11am. We purchased a 3 day bus/ferry pass and took the special bus to Horseshoe Bay beach. We had a bit of stormy weather , which caused us to leave sooner than we would have liked. Stores at the dockyard close at 6 pm, as they also do in Hamilton, so there was not much to do Sunday night.
On Monday, we took the ferry to St. George's and walked to Tobacco Bay Beach to enjoy snorkeling and swimming. We went early, and later in the day it became crowded. Walking to nearby Fort St. Catherine, the beach was empty! Maybe 3-4 people. That evening 2 members of our party went on the Swizzle Sunset cruise and enjoyed it very much....Bars at the dockyard close at 11pm and cocktails were very expensive for tourists...they have separate menus with only huge souvenir drinks. Order off the menu; it might be cheaper.
On our last day , it was back to Horseshoe Bay for a great day at the beach, swimming and wave jumping.
We were back in time to browse the shops at he dockyard and get on board by 5 pm to sail away.
We were told we would have some rough seas , but the navigator was a able to sail around and the water was calm like glass all the way back. We just had one day of some rocking but it was not bad at all.
Advise: Bring a power strip as there is only one outlet in the room; Bring a watch; your phone won't know what time it is. Less

BIG room! It is a sideways room, which is a nice arrangement. The shower was handicapped accessible, so no door and the floor got soaked after every shower; but it was easy to dry. Noisy at night because it is across from the crew room.
Port and Shore Excursions
Boston needs to paint and decorate to make this port more welcoming! Embarkation is easy on and off. Parking could be limited in the garage so come early. Free wifi is available . You can check in to get on board starting at 10 am.
