We have been on many cruises in the past 20 years, but this one was unlike any other. This is not your typical cruise ship, and we mean that in a very good way. The Fiji Princess is a 34 cabin ship that navigates the Yasawa Islands of Fiji, making one or two stops each day.

The atmosphere on board in very casual and highly social. We spent most of the week in shorts and casual shirts. Shoes were optional for both guests and some of the crew. After years of formal nights and sometimes impersonal service on large ships, this was quite a pleasant change. The crew aboard Fiji Princess were warm, friendly and beyond helpful. Every member of the cruise staff was fantastic. They made the entire experience special in every way. How often do you have a captain open the bridge and invite the guests to stop by any time they like? The same goes for the chef and the galley. Other cruise lines would benefit from seeing how this all-Fijian crew treated their guests.

Activies consisted of beach trips, amazing snokeling and multiple opportunites for cultural experiences, such as village visits. More active guests, such as ourselves, will appreciate the water activies and unique items like the cave swim.

Cabin Review

Cabin Orchid Deck

Cabins are nicely appointed but modest in size. Pack light, as the casual nature of the cruise experience lends itself to this manner of dress. Duffle bags that slide under the bed will help. You won't spend much time in your cabin, so we found the cabins to be only a minor factor in the overall cruise experience.
