Best Cruise

Sail Date: July 2014
Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean
Embarkation: Southampton

Our cruise was the Mediterranean adventure and we sailed from Southampton 12th July 2014.  This was our 3rd cruise with Princess and we loved it !

Once again we stayed overnight in the Southampton Premier Inn.

The embarking process went very smoothly although it was very busy we just unloaded our car ( 8 suitcase!) and the bags were taken away to our cabin and after 30 minutes we were on board.

The ship and crew were excellent so much to see and do, it was really nice having 3 days at sea before our first port as this allowed us to relax and get into the holiday spirit.

Our room steward worked hard to ensure our cabin was refreshed ASAP after we left for breakfast and again in the evening

We had fixed dining this time and found we preferred this to the “anytime” that we booked on the last 2 trips.

The food was excellent, many options inc steak / lobster etc we eat in the main dining room for breakfast / lunch and More dinner with the exception of one day when we had a “pub lunch” of fish and chips in the British style pub once again excellent.

We booked a table to 2 but got on really well with the couples either side of our table, with the wives talking about buying bags and shoes from the ports of call.

We found the entertainment very good and the big production nights excellent , Ami and the Princess dancers were West End standard.

Berni Flint held 2 shows and he was fantastic, as were the 2 comedians.

We also watched films and lectures in the main theatre on sea days.

The age group on this trip was a lot wider with many more younger people , but this helped reduce the queuing etc as people wanted to do different things.

We enjoyed all the ports and day trips Rome being the hi light. It was really nice to get back on board after a hard days exploring.

The only disappointment we had was not receiving our ticket to the captain’s cocktail party as we were returning guests.

This cruise was made perfect by the hard working crew of the Emerald Princess. Less
