For first time cruisers of which there were many on this trip, it probably seemed pretty good. However for the others who had cruised many times and with different cruise lines this was a disappointment.
On the positive side the cabins are without fault.Their layout and room attendants are excellent.
The decor was very dark and depressing. The food in the restaurant was not up to standard. This was not helped by a few of the waiters forgetting basics such as juice at breakfast, cold eggs on equally cold toast.
Luckily they were in the minority and the rest of the staff were great especially Sheward the singing waiter who would have not been out of place on the stage, or at most of the so called entertainment venues around the ship. Most of the singers were well below what one would expect, apart from the nightly dancers and singers in the theatre
They may have dropped their gratutities but the price of alcoholic drinks sure made up for the shortfall. The specialty restaurant charge of $40 pp was twice that charged by other ships we have sailed on.
The Lido buffet is not as well set up as other ships and the food choices are limited (could well be to suit childrens tastes) Embarking and disembarkation was equal or better than most.Finding a quite place to read is a challenge.
