I was really dismayed with the food, personel, and entertainment on the Carnival Breeze this spring. I thought on a previous cruise on the Carnival Dream that I just didn't like that particular ships food, personel, and entertainment, but I see now that it is a Carnival problem overall. The first morning of the cruise on the Breeze the bananas were brown. By day 2 and on you couldn't get a banana anymore or any other kind of fruit than mostly melons (which I don't like). I had apples the rest of the trip. Once there were grapes placed in the salad bar, and I went to take some (I was sick of apples after a while) and was yelled at by a food server who said the grapes were only for decoration and not to eat. I already had some on my plate so I ate what I had. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktails at dinner were very small and not cold. Very dismal looking. We stopped ordering them. The main dinner menu had a section with the same food listed every night. The dining room photographer never came over to take a picture of my family (even on formal nights) whether we were with a group of passengers we didn't know or when we switched to a table of our own. That was a first! Most of the shows were boring. We stopped going. Not into Doo Wop either. Everyone crowded the Comedy shows, because it was the only show that was half way decent. We did the trivia as well. It was good and it was something to do. The Piano Bar guy thought he was funny and had the same sticht each night. He won't play your song unless you pay him a lot of cash! Ridiculous! The personel was okay, but not overly friendly or helpful. My sail in card was screwed up from the beginning of our trip and took a while to straighten out. We were given free drink tickets, but you could only use them during breakfast or lunch when we weren't in the dining room and when you don't want to drink because we were going on excursions. They wouldn't honor them at dinner our last night like we were told they would by the Customer Service desk worker. The movies at night by the pool are old. They should play more recent flicks. The young adults on our cruise were drinkers, loud, and always in the way of any walk through by the pool. I wish Carnival would put pools in the Adults only decks (Solariums), so I wouldn't have to just lay and sweat just to have some peace laying out. All in all I will pay more and cruise Royal Caribbean for my future Caribbean cruises. Far better experiences with them.
