This review is from the view of a mid 20's newlywed couple. We were hesitant about booking a cruise on the sensation based off some of the reviews on here, but we did and extremely happy. Neither of us had been on a cruise before so we were unsure what to expect.

Getting our sail and sign cards and onto the ship was a breeze. We were on the ship in about 30 minutes from the time we arrived at port. Our room wasn't ready until 1:30 so we grabbed some lunch at the buffet on the Lido deck to kill some time. The food was much better than I expected and there was a wide variety from Burgers, Hotdogs, Mongolian, Italian, Deli Sandwichs, etc. Our luggage arrived at our room around 4 o'clock. We booked 2 excursions while on this cruise. Snorkeling while in Freeport and a Beach Day while in Nassau. Both excursions were reasonably priced and was very well organized. The locals running the excursions were friendly and helpful. I would even say, I never saw an unhappy carnival worker on or off the ship. All were extremely friendly and helpful. I read reviews on here that said the ship was very outdated. If that is the case, I look forward to seeing one of the newer carnival ships because it didn't feel outdated at all. There is a lot of purple so maybe this puts off an 80s vibe to some, but didn't both us a bit. The shows and entertainment at the bars is top notch. We sat in Touch of Class one night and listened to Brad play piano and sing hits of Queen, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, etc. He was great and it was a blast. I also read on here that the drinks were way over priced. The average mixed drink was about $8.75 and the 16oz beers were about $6.50. Those prices compare to our bars downtown so they didn't bother us at all. The food at dinner was great. Our waiters and waitresses called us by name and made it feel much more formal than it was. The steak, lobster, and chicken we had was great. Nothing we had was ever under or over cooked. The entertainment at the Lido deck was usually music that would appeal to the younger crowd, and did seem like more of a party. I can see where adults 30+ or a family may not be a fan of this.

All in all we had a blast and are planning a cruise with our family and group of friends next summer. If you are considering this for your first cruise or honeymoon do not hesitate. We couldn't think of a better way to spend it. A+ to Carnival and their staff for providing such an enjoyable experience for people at what we consider a very good value.

Cabin Review

Our cabin was nice. For it to be as small as it was, it didn't feel small. It was always well cleaned and maintained.
