My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our Norwegian Getaway Cruise to the Eastern Caribbean! The Freestyle dining and atmosphere was a welcomed alternative to the traditional dining on other cruise lines. You don't have to even pay extra for the specialty restaurants to enjoy a nice variety of food options in the 7 complimentary dining restaurants that were available. The Garden Buffet, or main buffet area, had delicious food choices but often felt crowded, like a high school cafeteria, when you like to eat during traditional meal times. We found that by choosing to eat in the main dining rooms or complimentary restaurants, we could enjoy our meals in a quiet atmosphere! O'Sheenans, for example, was a great place to eat made to order omelets for breakfast brought directly to your table, without having to stand in a long line holding a plate!

The activities and entertainment on the cruise were also really fun! You actually saw JC the Cruise Director or his staff having fun with passengers through games, music, or just joking around! The shows on board were all top notch especially the magic show "Illuminarium"! This show was worth paying extra for the floor seats because it promotes audience participation. Try to get there about 15 mins before your reservation time to get seats close to the stage!!!

I would like to point out, that if you prefer to hang out by the pool on sea days, get up early to get your seats! The pools on this ship are very small with a very limited number of pool chairs with good access to the pool. There are plenty of chairs on the sun decks, but if you want to be able to see your kids, get up early! This wasn't an issue for me, but I felt it was worth mentioning because it is something that I noticed.

Cabin Review

This is the perfect cabin for someone who does not plan to spend time in their room from 10pm - 1am. During this time, the music from the H2O Spice Club (on the 16th deck) is loud and vibrates in the room. However, during the day, you can sleep peacefully as it is very quiet in the back of the ship! Close to the Garden Buffet deck 15 and both the Teen and regular Clubs on deck 16, it is a great cabin for partiers! The room itself, mirrors the brochure pictures with a nice size bathroom and large balcony. From the back of the ship, you kind of feel like you are riding on a yacht!
