We just got back from this cruise, on which we went a little hesitantly, because of all the negative reviews we had read.

Bad food, sick people, nasty smells, unfriendly attendants.......we read it all.

Well, our experience on HAL Maasdam was super.

Not Royal Caribbean, but definitely not Carnival either. A perfect "in between".

Great cabin (205). Quiet, extra large balcony, plus easy access to back balcony which is always empty.

Wonderful Crew : from our cabin steward to the Rotterdam Host, to the Lido waiters and servers, and bartenders, Front Office ladies : friendly and always happy to help.

Good food : not once did we have to wait too long or was the food bland.

Excellent program for Teens (maybe because it was summer vacation).

Plenty of things to do during the day; beautiful Ports and interesting shore excursions.

The nights are somewhat slower, but there is a wide variety of entertainment to More choose from.

The highlight of this ship is the SPA. Great treatments and superb therapists.

We had a great time and will not hesitate to sail on another HAL ship. Less
