Sail Date: July 2014
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

This was our 38th cruise, 11th on Princess. We flew to FLL 3 days in advance to visit with relatives. We drove down to the port and dropped our luggage off before returning the car to the Budget location on 17th street right across from the port. We took their shuttle to Pier 2. We had Platinum status and were able to get on the priority line.

Soon after getting our key, we went onboard, however our luggage didn't come until after muster drill.

We had a great balcony on the Caribe deck. We had very hot weather during the week so we were able to get good use out of it. The cabin itself was okay size wise, closet space was good and our cabin steward brought us bathrobes, extra hangers and wine glasses.

We had anytime dining and often were given a beeper, wait times were about 1/2 hour as we wanted a table to 2. On 3 occasions, we were taken to the Palm dining room, otherwise we ate in the Island dining room. Food at dinner was pretty good, only one bad meal. More Service was good as well. We tried the Crab Shack one evening which we enjoyed. Food in the Horizon court was very good at lunch, however the congestion was a pain and finding a table also annoying. Drinks are now brought to you as well as silverware.

We attended the first art auction, not too inspiring. The shows were so so, but a couple of the bands were good including Passion and the Mariachis. The CD was a putz, interested in himself and his singing talents. We did not use the casino, it was very smoky.

We enjoyed the 5 pools and the walk around Promenade. Plenty of towels available at the pools.

We went to 4 ports: PC, Grand Cayman, Ocho Rios and Cozumel. Tendering required tickets but the wait wasn't more than 20 minutes. We took one Princess shore excursion to Passion Island which was great although it didn't depart until 12:30. We went by local bus to 7 mile beach, and used a nearby hotel in OR. Still not a fan of Jamaica.

This was a very relaxing cruise with great weather and a good itinerary. Disembarkation was easy, we stayed in the room until 8, took our things to breakfast and left the ship around 9. Took a cab to the airport for our trip home. Less

Cabin review: Caribbean Princess C630

Great size balcony a little too far aft for me though. Good closet size but near a service elevator that takes the luggage up and down.
