The Breakaway is a BIG ship. Sadly, its size is designed to carry as many passengers as possible, without much concern for passenger comfort. Carrying more passengers, but not increasing public space is a complete disregard for their guests. Not enough capacity in the Atrium, where most passenger oriented shows were held. More about this below in the CONS of my review.

The Good: Easy on, easy off. The rooms were quiet, we did not hear our neighbors. Climate control was very good in our cabin. Our cabin steward, Robert, was excellent, and our room was always pristine, nothing was overlooked. The Garden Cafe was better then I expected, but was lacking in its fruit and salad bars.

The CONS: Only two elevator banks, one aft and one forward. Eight elevators in each bank. Simply not enough. At rush hours (dinner especially), a wait of 5 or more elevators was not uncommon, as they arrived full with no room for more passengers. Also, with only two elevator banks, any destination, or even returning to your room will entail a lot of walking. A ship this size needs at least three elevator banks.

Cabin Review

Breakaway rooms are small, The mini-suite we had had was about the size of the balcony room we had on a Carnival cruise. The balcony was so small it was unusable for sitting (I am 6'6). However, the bathroom was nice with a double sink, and an oversized shower. Our room steward, Robert, was excellent and our room was always pristine.
