Hi. Just back from a 7 day on the "Millie". In my opinion, this is one of the best ships afloat. There is a reason why Conde Nast readers voted it number 4 in the large ship category again this year. She is 6 years old now and showing some wear. There were some tiles that needed replacing in the spa pool area, the fountains by the pools were not working, some boards were a little loose on the decking, and the carpet in our stateroom was stained. These small imperfections on a 6 year old vessel were really insignificant. Overall, the public areas were kept impeccably clean. I believe she is going in for dry-dock in April and may be in for a make-over.

The service and the staff is beyond compare. There is not one person that we passed in the entire week (and I really am telling the truth here) that did not acknowledge my husband or myself with some happy greeting as we passed. Not one person failed to smile and say hi in some way for an entire week! We were addressed as sir and madame! Imagine that. I thought we were the Gatsbys! I can't say enough about the dining room staff or the bar staff. Even the captain was jovial and personable. The food was quite good and the up-charge restaurant-- The Olympic-- should not be missed under any circumstances. I have dined in some of the finest restaurants in New York and Los Angeles and I have never had an experience like that.

The ports of call on an Eastern Caribbean sailing leave something to be desired. I can't for the life of me figure out why X insists on stopping in the Dom. Rep. It's pretty ugly there! I think they are trying to build up the shopping area (no bargains to be found). San Juan was equally disappointing. It was just OK.
