Our group of 12, ranging in age from 13 to 50, just debarked from the Sea Princess. We sailed from Perth to Singapore. Overall, it was an incredible experience and something we plan on doing again as soon as possible. With one exception, the staff on board is incredible. The dining staff made us feel extremely special at each meal, and was determined to ensure we were all happy. The meals were delicious, and the selection bountiful. Our cabins were always kept very clean by the room steward (but we did miss not having any towel animals made for us...but certainly a minor minor detail). The ship is extremely clean and all exterior appearances are very nice.

I have one significant issue with Princess management regarding missed ports, and early port departures, due to known "technical issues," but I won't belabor them in this review. I'll post those comments on a separate thread. Once on board, our group was determined to have a good time...regardless of where the boat went.

The only negative comment I have with regard to the cruise, is directed toward the cruise director and his staff. Individually, they are all extremely nice people, pleasant to be around and a fun lot. However, I get the sense that from the cruise director on down, the activities are on "auto-pilot" and somewhat robotic. The daily patter was often full of mistakes regarding what sporting events would be shown. The daily activities were unimaginative (over 12 days I lost count of the number of dart tournaments, bean bag tosses and carpet bowls events). Despite an itinerary change which resulted in 6 initial sea days, they crew did not appear to add any events or entertainment to fill the time...beyond the one off darts, bean bag toss and carpet bowls. This cruise has been sold out for months. This cruise occurred during Australian winter break...there were over 300 "kids" on board, yet the staff expressed surprise at all of the kids, and did not alter the daily plan accordingly. The 300 kids have been booked from months...the cruise director should have added some "youthful" oriented events...this was evident by how the pool volleyball was packed everyday (despite being limited to 30 minutes, and one pool which was inexplicably left empty for days...lack of communication between the staff and passenger was commonplace). The on board production shows were top notch...the pool side and lounge entertainment was average at best...pool side music was the exception to the rule.
