Sail Date: Jul 2014

My wife and myself cruised from southampton to Iceland and the fjords and excuse the pun but sailed through the check in.We were told to probably expect traffic problems but it was not as bad as we expected

We had cruised on the Equinox the previous year so we knew the layout of this ship would be the same.We had a cabin on deck 10 concierge and although people say it is not worth it,it is whatever one chooses. The cabin was nicely presented and kept clean througout the cruise. It is also a personal choice where you eat,we were on 2nd sitting MDR and to be honest we would not like to eat in the oceanview in an evening as it is too much like a canteen and a bun fight, although at lunchtime there was plenty of choice of food.In the MDR it is fine dining and that is what you get and although we were not impressed with the food on our first Celebrity cruise we could not fault the food on this ship.Meals were professionally presented and always with adequate vegetables and you could always have a side order of veg if required. The quality of the meat was excellent and what impressed us most was the prime rib of beef which you hardly needed a knife to cut it as it was so tender.

ENTERTAINMENT.It depends what you want, the opening show by the entertainment team looked quite good full of activity but we felt their closing show was not as good as apart from the people on the apparatus the remainder of about eight dancers were not really doing much apart from twirling around. The guests the Tenors of Rock were a bit loud.If you like risque entertainment then go to the late night adult shows which were good.On the team quizzes in an afternoon you do need a team of six otherwise you do not stand a chance unless you do not want to win.

Cabin Review

We had cruised on the solstice class before and knew what to expect and we were not disappointed as it was excellently presented and kept clean all through the cruise. You may not think you have a lot of space for clothes but above the bed is a spring loaded cabinet which gives you a lot more space and there is loads of room under the bed for cases.
