The Magic has a great feel and gives you a lot of room to roam. I was disappointed that the layout was very similar to the smaller Conquest and expected a newer and more open feel. The ship in much more simple in decor than the Conquest though. You will find more room on the upper decks, the Cloud 9 Spa and dining rooms. The staff on this cruise was great and very attentive. Our Cabin Steward (Edis) was always around when we needed him but never in the way. He learned our habits and was always in and out of our rooms without us ever being bothered. The room was always ready for us after breakfast and dinner and towels were replaced several times a day as we tended to take more than one shower in a day.

Our dining room staff had to be the best that we have had to date. Irwin knew our names right away and kept us well fed. Monta was always watching over us and was the life of every meal. She was very engaging and had us laughing at every meal. She really became part of the More group and jumped right in with the jokes and fun we were having. She also had a great knowledge of the meals and was spot on with what we would and would not like after learning our tastes in food.

We did have an issue with one of the chairs on our balcony staining a pair of shorts but Customer service was on the issue right away and once it was determined that the spot could not be removed they credited our account for the cost of the shorts.

We did not participate in many of the on board entertainment but did watch some of the recorded shows that took place in the forward theater with the Cruise Director James and could tell that he was entertaining and kept the crowd involved in the fun.

As always there were the typical issues with being on in an enclosed space with a couple other thousand people and we noticed a few areas that could have been better staffed. Overall, we were very pleased with the experience and will book a trip on the Magic again. Less

Cabin review: Carnival Magic Balcony Empress 7467

This was the first time we had chosen an aft-view room. The layout was not different than the other balcony rooms but it was 5-6 feel longer. We traveled with friends that had 7465 and it was noticeable. This extra space was divided up between storage and space in-between the bed and sofa. There was about 3 feet of open storage behind the cabin door that helped a lot for those of us that travel heavy. It was great for extra suitcases and larger items that would otherwise be taking up room in the cabin. The extra room in the main area of the cabin gave us space to stretch out and not feel cramped. The bathroom was no different from any other that we have had before on any of the Carnival ships. Compact and room enough for one person. The balcony was large but a bit deceiving. Since the aft of the ship slopes in as it get higher a couple of feet the the floor space is under the slope of the railing. Although there was a chaise the fit in this space you could not really lay out and tan as the glass is tinted. Over all I would book this cabin again. The location in the aft of the ship is a bit of a hike from the Fun Shops and Casino but the Southern Lights dining room is 3 floors down and the Lido deck is 3 floors up.
