The Magic has a great feel and gives you a lot of room to roam. I was disappointed that the layout was very similar to the smaller Conquest and expected a newer and more open feel. The ship in much more simple in decor than the Conquest though. You will find more room on the upper decks, the Cloud 9 Spa and dining rooms. The staff on this cruise was great and very attentive. Our Cabin Steward (Edis) was always around when we needed him but never in the way. He learned our habits and was always in and out of our rooms without us ever being bothered. The room was always ready for us after breakfast and dinner and towels were replaced several times a day as we tended to take more than one shower in a day.
Our dining room staff had to be the best that we have had to date. Irwin knew our names right away and kept us well fed. Monta was always watching over us and was the life of every meal. She was very engaging and had us laughing at every meal. She really became part of the group and jumped right in with the jokes and fun we were having. She also had a great knowledge of the meals and was spot on with what we would and would not like after learning our tastes in food.
We did have an issue with one of the chairs on our balcony staining a pair of shorts but Customer service was on the issue right away and once it was determined that the spot could not be removed they credited our account for the cost of the shorts.
We did not participate in many of the on board entertainment but did watch some of the recorded shows that took place in the forward theater with the Cruise Director James and could tell that he was entertaining and kept the crowd involved in the fun.
As always there were the typical issues with being on in an enclosed space with a couple other thousand people and we noticed a few areas that could have been better staffed. Overall, we were very pleased with the experience and will book a trip on the Magic again.
