After booking a cruise on the Glory, I read all kinds of less than stellar reviews on this ship. It made me leary that maybe I had made a mistake. So I vowed that after our trip, regardless of how it went, I would write an honest critique . The Carnival Glory Eastern Carrabean cruise was absolutely amazing and our favorite cruise to date. Because it was remodeled in 2012, everything was new and fresh. It is a 2.0 ship so the addition of Guy Fieri's burger joint , the dive in movie screen, the new casino, and new serenity spa area make the Glory very modern. It seems that when talking to cruisers or those wanting to cruise, the first talking points are about food, rooms, and ports. The Glory food was excellent. From the selection on the Lido deck buffets for breakfast and lunch, to the dinners in the more formal dining restaurants. At dinner, we loved the freedom of anytime dining as well as being able to order as many appetizers and entrees that we wanted. It gave us the option of mixing and matching to create our own courses. We stayed in a balcony room in the middle of the ship and felt little to no rocking. The view was beautiful and our room steward was Johnny on the spot and quite efficient. The ports that we stopped at were really fabulous. We usually load our cruises down with excursions but decided to take a more relaxed approach this cruise. The first stop at Half Moon Cay was magical. We were on the first tender to the white sanded beach and were among the first in the water where we were greeted by beautiful tropical fish that swam along side of us for the first hour. Second stop was St. Thomas were we shopped half a day and swam the other half...relaxing and beautiful. San Juan is the third stop. It is very hot there in the summer and I do wish that my husband and I would have booked an excursion. We just hung out in Old San Juan and visited the forts. Not bad, but if you are waiting for the free trolley, it fills up very quickly and takes forever to run its route. Grand Turk was also great. We swam all day at Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville's huge swimming resort for free. They did have cabanas for rent that we may consider for next time. All in all, this cruise was amazing. We are planning on taking our children on this trip next year. SO...Cruise on!

Cabin Review

Our balcony cabin was terrific. We were in the middle of the ship and felt little rocking. Our room steward was very efficient. The views were beautiful. We always get a balcony. It is well worth the extra money.
