Never again

Sail Date: July 2014
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

This was our second cruise with RC (first one in April on the Brilliance of the Sea). Our first cruise with them went without any issues other than the typical slow bar service, average food served in the "free dining" etc. This trip has truely given us some depth on how RC isn't as great as many perceive.

We were a group of 10 traveling July 17-21 out of Port Everglades. First, RC's phone reservations agent misbooked us into a room that didn't have the requested murphy bed for my 6'2" 220 son. We discover this two weeks prior to sailing. We called RC, they told us it would be an additional $500 to put us in the rooms we originally requested. They even admitted to reviewing the recorded phone call and said their agent made a mistake.

The cruise itself, was average at best. With the prepaid tip program, we discovered that there is a lack of motivation from most staff members to step up. Bar service was slow at all the bars, wait time up to 20 minutes for a simple beer More at most locations, even when not busy.

We had open dining with a reservation for 8:30 every night, our first night was fine, but when we arrived the second night, we were told an additional 15 to 30 minutes wait bringing us in for dinner. Why take reservations if you will not honor them? The dining room manager was slow to come out to speak to us, and finally opened up a few tables to accomodate our group. She did give us two bottles of wine to try to calm the issue down. This was formal night as well, the waiter spilled a pitcher of water on my wife by accident on her dry clean gown.

It took over four tries and new room card keys before the last one worked to open my door in my stateroom. The list goes on. If this is a reflection of the captain, the company needs to take a look at the lack of management of the ship.

There are many other issues we encountered, but that is being saved for our all inclusive letter to the customer service group at corporate.

We sailed Disney 15 times, Carnival, twice and Holland America once. I can tell you, this is our last cruise with RC Less

If negative numbers would be reflective on the 1-10 scale, a minus 5
