We returned from an eleven night cruise to the Baltic and St Petersburgh on the Legend of the Seas on 30th June. This was our third time with this itinerary. On this particular cruise there were two new ports of call, namely Riga, Latvia & Visby, Sweden. All ports of call were excellent but as there were at least seven cruise ships following us around, everywhere was crowded, particularly St Petersburgh. We counted seven ships berthed at our cruise terminal and about five smaller ships berthed on the River Niva. Our guide informed us that St Petersburgh has approximately ONE MILLION visitors a day!! As we had done most of the itinerary before, the only tours we took were the ship's tours to St Petersburgh. The rest of the ports, we did our own thing.

This was our fourth time on the Legend, a ship we really loved. She had a major refit in 2012 so it was difficult to recall what she was like previously. She now has more cabins and two speciality restaurants. We dined "My Time" which we enjoyed immensely and we also tried Chops Grill which was excellent. I couldn't finish my mini fillet as the portions were rather big. Generally the food is a bit hit and miss on Royal Caribbean ships, but on the Legend it was really very good. There is also the new Park Cafe, situated in the Solarium on deck 9. This opens before the Windjammer and you can have a really early, light, healthy breakfast. (sore point - read on). On the whole, the ship was very clean and bright, but you can't help but feel that she's getting on a bit.

As we are not really big on the theatre shows, I can't make a comment, but others said that they weren't bad. We did see a bit of the aerial show in the Atrium and it looked very good. Entertainment in the bars and lounges was good.
