This was our first experience of cruising though in actual fact it is a Transatlantic voyage. My husband and I did the West bound and returning East bound crossing. We enjoyed the whole experience immensely.
My comments about the QM2 are almost all positive. The ship is luxurious ,though after 10 years decor etc is a little tired in places. I understand a refit is due very shortly.
The food was very good.
The entertainment was varied with something for everyone.
The same can be said for all activities.
The overall facilities of the ship are excellent.
The biggest positive are the staff especially the room stewards and restaurant staff. They work exceptionally hard and nothing is too much trouble.
Now for the negative. On returning home we have done some question asking via the internet. We are saddened to read the employment terms and general wages of this grade of staff. Registering a ship in Bermuda apparently allows the More
payment of extremely low basic pay with little worker protection ie unions.
Will we cruise with Cunard again? Yes we will and make sure we give large tips whilst voicing the opinions expressed above. Less
