My husband and I are 30 and decided to take a "Valentine's Day" getaway on Celebrity. We had read so many wonderful things about the revitalized Century, and love Key West so much, it was a perfect choice for a long weekend away. We booked a room on the Penthouse level, left our 2 kids with the grandparents and off we went. Embarkation was very quick and efficient. We took the Celebrity transfer from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami which made things very simple. We double-checked our luggage and got onboard at 3:30. We went straight to our room and were met there by our room attendant. Melroy was wonderful - we swore he had a camera on our room because every time we left, we would come back and it would be clean and made up. Celebrity, from every aspect of the ship, gets an A for service! As we prepared to pull away, we sat at the Sunset Bar at the back of the ship. May I suggest that anyone looking for a beautiful, scenic area go here. We spent a few afternoons just relaxing at the barstools overlooking the ocean. I'll move on to the basic ins and outs of our trip...

Food: I had heard so many wonderful things about the dining on Celebrity that I was excited to try everything. Unfortunately, I have to admit, that it did not live up to my expectations (and I am not considerably picky when it comes to food). It was average at best, and honestly we had better meals on RCCL. We ate most mornings at the buffet because it was quick and easy. The buffet did not have many options at all, and the limited options were the same every day. The eggs were watery and the fruit not so great. The waffles, however, were pretty good. Lunch we did mostly off the ship while in port and on the day at sea, we just ordered room service (which we did a few midnights as well). The food was good from Room Service but the selection was better with other cruise lines. We did love the TV ordering though. Dinner we ate mostly in the Grand Restaurant. Our service was wonderful - especially the night the boat was extremely rocky and I felt sick. They sent our entire meal (bottle of wine and all) to our stateroom so that we could eat it there. The food itself was average. My husband loved the Prime Rib the first night, but I can't say I had anything that left me "wowed". The lobster the last night was very dry, but had a great taste to it. Food I would give an average C.

As I previously mentioned, we mainly booked this sailing due to its stop in Key West, but we also stopped in Cozumel. The weather both days was overcast, and Key West was downright cold. Not too much to mention about either stop...but if you are in Key West, make sure you head to Irish Kevin's around 11:30 or so. Great fun!! Cozumel we had been to twice so we just walked around and grabbed souvenirs for the kids. We also had lunch at Senor Frogs. That day, thankfully, we just relaxed at the pool and grabbed up the only sun we saw the whole trip. The last day (our day at sea) was miserable and rainy. As far as entertainment, we didn't make it to any of the shows. We hadn't heard wonderful things about any of the performers except for the Cat's Pajamas, so we skipped all of the performances. A few of our favorite areas on the boat were the Rendezvous Lounge, where there were a group of older women dancing away with the Celebrity Dancers, which was actually really fun to watch. We made it to Michael's which was great for some relaxing singalong piano music. Most nights, we made our way up to the Hemisphere, which except for the group of rowdy kids from New York, was a great way to end the night. Other than that, selection for bars was pretty limited although I knew that going into the trip. Alex was a wonderful cocktail server as well if you get the opportunity to meet him. Again, I'd give the ship and average C+/B- on entertainment.
