This was our third transatlantic voyage on the QM2. NYC-SOU-HAM-SOU-NYC..18-days. We left Brooklyn on June 13th in a storm. However, the sailed easily under the Verrazano-Narrows bridge and out to sea.
Most of the days the seas were calm and despite occasional fog, rain and high winds, the ship was steady with minimal rocking.
This was our third year in the Princess Grill suites by choice. We refused offered upgrades to Queens Grill.
PG is definitely the best value for the fare. In the PG restaurant you have your assigned table for the whole voyage. The PG restaurant feels intimate and has experienced waiters plus the food was even better than previous years. PG class has priority boarding and disembarkation plus access to all the areas that Queens Grill enjoys(Concierge and Grills Lounge plus an exclusive lounging deck).
We have read Cruise Critic reviews castigating the employees, service, and the appearance of the ship. This not the case in More
Grills class. We recommend that PG is the best way to travel as we feel that Queens Grill is overpriced.
We love the QM2 and look forward to another voyage in 2016. Less
