Our second cruise with Celebrity the first being on the Century an older ship than the Eclipse but just as nice in many ways, the Eclipse is a superb ship very stylish and never felt crowded even with 2800 guests on board.

We were in cabin 7221 on deck 7 on the hump nice position near glass lifts, very comfy king size bed with over bed cupboards worth taking some canvas boxes 280mm cube to put bits in easier to get out. Wardrobe with hanging space plus half rail for slacks etc. 5 drawer chest draws not very deep, a desk with two power points European round two pin and American flat pin style. 32" TV and nice to see on a ship Kettle with tea and coffee, fully stocked drinks cooler (Extra charge even if on drinks package). Cabin was spotless bathroom had super shower with curved glass doors plenty on toiletries and lots of storage space. Lighting was good in cabin.

Food - we eat in MDR on select dinning however we meet up with some nice people so we all dinned together More each night on same table with same staff, food was very good read a report steaks were not good they were for me had superb T bone one night and Elephant Shank another. Great menu to chose from. Had first lunch at Bistro on 5 nice not crowded now 7$ charge. We also eat in Qsine what a gem if you not tried it do great fun had spring roll yes served in a spring set the tone. We also tried the Tuscan Grille had best fillet steak I have ever eaten worth the extra just for that staff were great as they were in all the restaurants but must single out Fatima from Turkey she was a joy to behold always smiling and such a nice girl a credit to Celebrity worth asking we got 2 for 1 at both places. Ocean-view Cafe had great choice of food but was very busy at peek times mainly for lunch on sea days, job to get a table at times. My main gripe Cafe al Bacio super place to enjoy a coffee and cake if you could get a seat, people just used it as a reading room and would sit at the tables for hours on end, Celebrity you need to sort this out please.

Entertainment - Sorry but I have to say I could not warm to the new CD Sinan Ulucay he made me cringe when he was on the mic he may be good at Butlins but not on Celebrity very amateurish and over the top. However the artist were great, alas missed Mike Doyle but saw Jayne Curry twice her 13:00 show to packed house was great we also enjoyed Jon Courtney very talented musician as was Kateryna Sychova in all the single show artist were good, I agree with the other reviews the big shows with dancers etc were just load noise and the same as we saw on last years cruise. I enjoyed the Les DeMerie Jazz Quartet with Bonnie Eisele great to listen to there music while enjoying a pre dinner drink, Les did a talk on the story of his big band to packed house great film footage when he played with Frank Sinatra looking forward to hearing him again when we cruise on Solstice in November.

Ports - Copenhagen very nice, berth a disgrace to the Copenhagen tourist board as I read in Danish Newspaper just think what been like with 3 ships in as there was the week before chaos. Stockholm Vasa museum superb get there early otherwise long lines to get in. Tallinn would have been wonderful in the sun alas it rained we had 3 hour walk with guide and was good value for money and very interesting.

St. Petersburg a real gem of a city we did tour with SPB can't praise them enough first class from booking to finish very professional at a good price for what we did and saw WONDERFUL. Klaipeda Lithuania - First time Celebrity had docked there and the biggest ship ever to dock also, A quaint town but not ready for 2800 people off a cruise ship, welcomed by a group of folk dancers we did town tour and end up at local brewery having some very nice samples and taxi back to ship as it started raining. Gdansk - Well really Gdynia which once again first time Celebrity used this dock this time greeted by marching band and cheerleaders, downside was an hours coach ride into Gdansk which was a lovely old city which had been completely rebuilt in old style very interesting place.

Summery- Great cruise, good ship, great ports, great food and drinks, superb staff, and meet some great people thanks to Cruise Critic forum for our cruise and the group that put together a great web site http://eclipse2014.wix.com/celebrity-eclipse I hope to meet up with some again on a Celebrity cruise.

Sorry its long Less
