This review may be a little long but here it goes.... Left Ontario, California on a red-eye and arrived in Ft. Lauderdale at 9:45 am, to those who are interested we flew Delta and the service & seats were very good!! I had reserved a Town car from Florida Limos and it was waiting for us at the curb when we landed, everything was going so well that something had to go wrong! Nope, we were at the Port of Miami in about 20 mins. and checked our luggage with the Porter and we were inside at about and on the ship (with a short wait upstairs) in about an hour. Our rooms were not ready yet so we went to do what we do best and ate lunch on the Lido deck, walked around and generally tried to get our bearings, it became a joke with our little group that to down you had to go up!!! We learned quickly that if you go to the casino on deck 5 you can get just about anywhere including the crap table!!! my girlfriend and I are known as the double "D's" since we have the same name and several people we meet in the casino got a kick out of that, won a little and lost a little. We had cabin 2379 Main deck mid-ship which is where I usually like to be and the cabin itself was in a good spot, between elevators, and the cabin was a good size, the bed extremely comfortable with plenty of drawers & closet space, but the one complaint I have is that there was some strange banging sounds and the ceiling & TV would move. It happened about 2-3 times and because of this I would not stay in this cabin again, no explanation about noise when asked. But our cabin steward was fabulous and always had ice in our bucket and clean towels. We ate in the Paris Dining room, late seating and our Head waiter Marija was over the top and her asst. Head waiter Jadrua (wrong spelling, I know) was wonderful, felt like close friends instead of employees of the cruise line, made us feel very comfortable and we cried and hugged on the last day (I have their e mail address and I will keep in touch!). Food was very good, some things better than others but since I did not have to cook or do dishes I was very satisfied with the quality.

Our ports of call were San Juan: Did a tour 20.00 pp and Bruno was our guide, very funny & educational, we had a short stop at a beach and played in the water while taking pictures! Would have preferred to have more daylight to visit the fort and see the city since I love history and some parts of the city are beautiful. St. Thomas: we did the Atlantis submarine and loved every minute of it!!!! The boat ride to the sub was worth the price alone and the water was crystal clear. The sub. took us down to 90 ft. and the sun was still shining, we saw two sharks and a sea turtle and lots & lots of fish & coral!! Afterwards, did Paradise Point tram and view was just marvelous!!! St. Martin/St. Maarten: At this port we did the Golden Eagle Catamaran since I had told my husband I could not go to the Caribbean without going into the water. I highly recommend this tour if you are wondering what to do, the ride to the island was soooo much fun, my friend said I looked like a kid at Disneyland, and the rum punch was good too!!! I did not snorkel here and the people who did said that they were disappointed because they did not see very many fish, as this was not really billed as a snorkeling tour I was not too surprised, I just floated around in the water and sat on the beach until they called us back to the boat to go home (I swear we were not there over an hour;)!!! This was a swimsuit optional beach and I always wonder why people who don't wear clothes should!!! The weather was perfect (except the last day coming home), the food and entertainment was wonderful, the water was fabulous and all of us had a wonderful time, we will go back again, fact is we are talking about moving to St. Thomas!!! Not sure if DH was just joking or not? This was my first cruise with carnival, have done two with with RCI and enjoyed every minute of it, after all I was on vacation!!! Any Questions?
