Excellent Cruise!: Celebrity Equinox Cruise Review by Loose moose

This itinerary, Venice to Istanbul has been on our 'to do list' for ages so our expectations were high!
Before the cruise we stayed overnight on Venice Lido at the Panorama Hotel , a delightful hotel opposite the water bus stop. We took the Alilaguna Red Line from Marco Polo to the Lido , then the following morning the Alilaguna blue line to the cruise terminal.
Embarkation was a dream, we got off the water bus and walked 5 minutes to the check in then sailed (sorry) through!
I really can't fault anything about the cruise, our cabin was comfortable with adequate storage space, we had a late sitting in the MDR for dinner and the food was very good, (see comment about the wine at the end of review) we really enjoyed sitting outside for breakfast, lunch More and the sail away.
The bars were varied and not too crowded, (apart from when the world cup matches were being shown), in fact the whole ship (with the exception of the pool area) seemed spacious, tastefully designed and contemporary.
All the bar and restaurant staff were friendly , and as mentioned in another review, Josh the cruise director was brilliant!
We made our own arrangements in all the ports of call except for Kusadasi , where we took a ship excursion to Ephesus, this may have been slightly overpriced but worth it for the convenience. The destinations on this cruise were all great especially Ephesus and Santorini.
The only hiccup was regarding the pre purchased alcoholic beverage packages , when we ordered wine with our first lunch the wine we wanted wasn't available , although it was on the list when we booked the packages ( and still appears to be when you look online !) We were advised to upgrade to the premium package and were glad we did as for the difference in price the choice was far better. However my husband mentioned this when we settled up at the end of the cruise and Celebrity refunded the difference in price.
Disembarkation was also smooth and we would certainly cruise with Celebrity again. Less
