We cruised the W. Carib on the CB 6/28-7/5. We are 24 and 30 (young professionals) and this is our second Princess cruise.
Embarkation - very easy...we arrived at the cruise port around 1145 and were on the ship by 1215.
Stateroom - we were upgraded to E301, an obstructed ocean view handicapped room. It was very spacious and was in a very convenient location.
Room Steward - Nonexistent. Did his job well but we only saw him maybe twice...no complaints other than on embarkation day our toilet overflowed and was spewing out water and it probably took a little longer than it should have to be fixed (however, was fixed same day by the time we were back from dinner)
Beverage Package - We definitely got our moneys worth without having to feel like we HAD to drink. A few glasses with dinner, a baileys and coffee and a few after dinner drinks is by no means a stretch for me.
Service - Overall we had great service. Our dinner staff was very competent and accommodating although nothing special, they did their jobs well. We enjoyed wine tastings with Ryan in Vines. Bar staff on the Lido was overwhelmed but still friendly and working as fast as they could to fulfill the many drink orders. I had read complaints about the pool side service but I saw many waiters taking orders although we ourselves don't use the pool. Our favorite spot that we frequented every night was Crooners...we really enjoyed the staff here, Gery and Joseph are amazing bartenders.
Food - Varied. Some dishes were good, others not so much. We found the food on the Ruby more consistent but overall we were pleased. We did the Crab Shack which was well worth the price and very good (KING crab!). Crowne Grill was good but not as good as on the Ruby...still worth the extra money. International Cafe was disappointing to my husband who loves his quiches but the panini's I ordered were all very good. Pub lunch is not to be missed - the fish and chips were top-notch. Tea time was excellent, the scones and mini sandwiches along with the desserts were delicious. We are not buffet people and did not eat at the buffet once.
Ultimate Ship Tour - Amazing and worth the money. If you can afford the splurge, do it. You learn so much and get to see amazing places you otherwise never would. Highlights were the galley and bridge.
Entertainment - We don't go and see the Princess production shows. The comedian was so-so. The magician, Landon Swank, was very entertaining (and handsome). Plenty of stuff going on at night at Crooners and Skywalkers. Lots of Piazza entertainment during the day. Ultimate Deck Party was packed. Compared to our last Princess cruise there was A LOT going on.
Ship - We thought it was in great shape but we are not ones to pick out minor details (really, there is much more important things). There was on multiple occasions a foul smell from different areas.
Overall we had an amazing cruise. Don't listen to the complainers. Service is still great and you should not hesitate to book a cruise on CB based on bad reviews.
