Riviera Cruise Review by Berelle: Perfection at last
Overall Member Rating
Perfection at last
Embarkation: Rome (Civitavecchia)
We are seasoned travelers having approx. 40 cruises under our belts. We are also much older but still very alert and physically active. We confine our trips to the 5 and 6 star ratings . We have been on Crystal , Celebrity, RCL, Norwegian, Regent, Cunard among others searching for the ultimate but falling short till now, We found Nirvana. A last minute decision to cruise over the holiday led us to Oceania Riviera.
It was short but 99.9 % perfection. My one minor fault was no sea day to rest up from such a tight schedule and also to get to enjoy and discover the ship it self.
Both embarkation and debarkation were well executed, short and easy. The ship is an enlarged version
of the 3 smaller Oceania Ships ( 670 ) We have been on all and do like the intimacy of the smaller ships but the Riviera (1200 ) offers so many other attributes ( cooking classes , art school , Restaurants, ETC.) that we easily adjusted
The ship is beautiful. the art work, More fabrics, scultures, paint colors are top notch so wherever you are you are surrounded by beauty . the restaurants were unbeleivable. Special notice to Toscano and Ginger.
There is no surcharge except for 1 place with degustation and matched wines which we did not utilize.
The staterooms( We had a deluxe with balcony ) were very well designed. with all amenities we needed.
Enough ! I'm tired after long flight home but had to write this to let you know that someone does it right
so enjoy. Barelle
Ps: special thanks to Michael (waiter ) Petra (stewardess ) Claudia( Hostess ) and so many others Less
