It was a BREEZE: Carnival Breeze Cruise Review by Beth

It was a BREEZE
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami port could learn from Port Canaveral - it was total chaos in the terminal as far as embarkation goes - procedures should have been 1. Wedding part, 2. Diamond, 3. Plantium , 4. FTTF and 5. others. They just announced for all #1,2,3 &4 to board - it was a mess.
Our first time on the Breeze - did not know what to expect - we have been on 47 cruises and loved the Dream and also loved the Breeze - it holds about 300 more passengers that the Dream. Did the Mongolian wok and Beth had the More pasta - we toured the ship and was impressed by the layout - easy to get around and staff were very friendly and would answer our questions. The room was available for us and immediately our room steward (Joaquim) called us by name and was very nice - we were on the 7th floor in the front of the ship - nice view of where we were going.
Entertainment - Matt (CD) very personable and a nice employee of Carnival - very easy to have a discussion with him about anything and he was always busy - #Groovin6 band were also entertaining - they did request - sometimes to loud - but you can always leave. Casino was a great place to hang out - I was involved in the Blackjack tournament - the 2nd tournament championship round - with one hand left I was in total command - $4700 with the second place person $1500 - I was already going to the bank with the $500 and eating at Outback instead of McDonalds - well (Tim from Indiana had other ideas) he had $700 and played $500 on the Fun Pair and hit suited deuces and the lady to his right had pair of same color aces and I ended up 3rd - but it was so much fun. I was also pleased that the bar gave receipts for drinks you order. I got my drink card the night before our last sea day. No complaints from this guy about that - the casino was good to me. We did take in Motown show which I recommend and several adult comedy shows which were great also.
Food - we ate in the MDR and our table mates were all Diamond (???) . Our waiter was Ardana and his assistance were Alit and Andy. They did treat us very good and the food was typical of Carnival - if you go hungry it is your fault. We ate on deck with Jimmy's BBQ and it was just great - and of course Guy's burgers. Beth and I would end the evening by having pizza for night time snack.
Disembarkation - we wasted some time on disembarkation - the LaQuinta provided shuttle service to the cruise ship and for $10.00 per person a ride back to the hotel - for $27.00 (for both of us) we could have rode a taxi and not had to wait for the shuttle after getting off the boat - once you get off the boat it is over and you want to get back to reality - not stand on a curb and look for your shuttle. Disembarkation was a Breeze and had no problems unless you count watching luggage go around and around on a airport style conveyor belt - it seem to take a while to get our luggage but once we got our luggage it went very smooth.
We got in our car and again spent the night in St. Augustine - 1/2 way home
Summary - great trip - met some great people - glad we drove and did not fly (ps - it cost more to fly to Atlanta from Augusta (127 miles) than from Atlanta to Miami (approximately 500 miles) - go figure - CD was awesome and entertainment was fun - the BBQ was just wonderful and wish all ships would do that and one last bit of kudos - very few announcements over the pa system Less
