So this was our Honeymoon and first impressions were good. I actually remarked to my husband it seemed so perfect what could anyone possibly complain about well.........
Good Points -
Staff (As in servers, cleaners ect) were so helpful and very very polite. Nothing was ever too much trouble they had wonderful manners and were always smiling! Food was to a good standard, always plenty of choice. I can be quite a fussy eater and do struggle to find food to eat when dining out but this was not a problem. All areas were always kept clean, there were always staff, wiping, moping, hoovering ect.
Bad Points -
Our cabin was on Deck 4 which just happened to be the deck that all trips disembarked from. Every morning (with the exception of the 2 sea days) we were woken by passengers chatting and queuing outside our stateroom. It became difficult to even exit our room for breakfast as the corridors were so congested, no one was willing to move! Needless to say we were unable to have any kind of a lie in! Not that we got a good nights sleep as our double bed was just two single beds pushed together!. There was a clear gap between the beds making it impossible to lie in the middle, not ideal when its your Honeymoon. There is a box in the main lobby called 'The Dear Tony' box that you can raise any concerns you have, which we did regarding the bed and being woken up, the response...... Well we got a plate of 5 strawberries covered in chocolate and a standard letter saying thanks for your query bla bla bla. The box should be renamed the 'Doesn't matter what your complaint is we don't care and will fob you off with 5 chocolate covered strawberries'...... These points may seem trivial to some but i think it was the staffs help or should i say lack of that they offered after we had been robbed. We unfortunately were robbed while in Naples, we had our boarding passes, all our money and debit/credit cards taken a truly terrifying and frightening experience - not that NCL cared.... We managed to make it back to the ship, luckily we had our passports on us so were able to show these and board the ship eventually. We were told to go to reception and explain to them which we did and they stared blankly at us. I was crying asking if they could help us and the receptionist didnt really have a clue what to do. Even though we were still in shock we sorted ourselves out, locating the nearest police station, filing a report, cancelling cards ect.....
So if something like getting mugged/robbed or pick pocketed happens to you, don't expect any help from the ship as they really don't care.
In short If you want to go on a lovely cruise dont pick NCL>
