Six of us, 3 couples from New Zealand, had 2 7 day back to back cruises from Venice which we enjoyed.
We arrived in Venice the day before by train from Rome and stayed at the Palazzo Minelli. After having breakfast there and walking around St Marks Sq a bit we returned to our B&B to get our luggage and caught our luggage to P Roma where we walked on to the ship via the People Mover and arrived for embarkation at around midday. Embarkation was smooth and efficient and we were on board and sitting down and having lunch at the buffet within an hour.
Lunch and in general all the food we ate whilst on board was tasty and enjoyable and only on the odd occasion was it cold or luke warm. We thought there was sufficient variety in the food available and enjoyed dinners at not only the buffet but also at The Grand Pacific which we thought had good variety in the menus and also at Alizar. The only place we found below an acceptable standard was Blue Lagoon Cafe where the food was mediocre to put it nicely and the service terrible. This was totally different to all other places on board. In fact at Alizar when we arrived for dinner one evening, because we were going to have to wait 20 minutes for a table to be come available we were given drink vouchers to get a complimentary drink fonr the 6 of us at hers at the Casino Bar.
