Ship Facts: Thomson Majesty Review (by Cruise Critic!)
Adriatic Explorer / Italian Flavours

Our Adriatic Explorer/ Italian Flavours Cruise on Majesty 13-27th June 2014 was our first on Majesty and 14th Thomson cruise in 5 years.

Our flight and transfer in Corfu were fast and efficient, but we were concerned to see long queues outside the Departures entrance to the airport. Two weeks later we were in such a queue for three-quarters of an hour, in sweltering heat, This airport is to be avoided!!

The vessel is the newest in the fleet and has recently had some superb refurbishment to the Piazzo San Marco self-service restaurant and the addition of some cabin balconies.

The ship was permanently cold but fortunately the aircon/heating in our small but cosy outside cabin on deck 4 was very efficient.

The food was well below the standards previously experienced with Thomson with reduced menus, less sophisticated dishes, all presented cool/warm. Drinks service was slow and we were over-charged a full bottle of wine, which took time to remedy with Reception.

Ice Cream (frozen yogurt?) - once freely available - can now only be obtained in the waiter-service restaurants or at the sales kiosk.

The weather was variable, which Thomson can’t control, but with high winds developing they should have secured deck furniture before a sun-lounger blew down from sun-deck to pool-deck, injuring a passenger who required medical attention.

As ever on sea days it was difficult to find a sun-bed and the policy of non-reserving was not effectively policed.

The entertainment from Muzzik Unlimited and the Show Team was superb.

Wi-fi is expensive onboard but we found it freely available in most ports.

We found the first week excursions expensively lack-lustre and made our own arrangements during the second week

The Captain made the briefest of announcements and appearances.

I think we need to try another cruise company!!
