I've been to Alaska twice; first time was on a Princess ship which was very nice. This time I chose Holland America and am highly impressed with most aspects of the ship and the cruise line. My daughter and I paid a small amount for an upgrade to the Rotterdam Deck/Neptune Concierge level. We were assigned Suite 7081. The upgrade was worth every dollar. After being quickly checked in at the terminal, we were in our suite by 11:30 a.m. (boarding was scheduled for 1 p.m.) and our luggage came within 45 minutes! Suite 7081 is a huge accommodation, mid-ship and close to the elevators and the Neptune Lounge which is beautifully appointed and which provides light appetizers throughout the day along with a coffee machine and a variety of fruit juices, fruit, vegetables and parfaits till 10 p.m.. So more about the suite: our beds were already arranged as two singles. A complimentary bottle of sparkling wine and another bottle of water were placed on a sideboard bar area. The desk area had personalized stationery, an umbrella to use ashore, binoculars and the mini bar was well stocked. We each were gifted a pair of terry cloth slippers and a tote bag. There is a seating area with a sofa bed, two club chairs and a coffee table. There are floor-to-ceiling windows providing lots of natural light. The veranda had two lounge chairs plus a table and four chairs for outdoor dining or just enjoying the beautiful views as you cruise. Inside there is more than enough storage space; two huge closets with plenty of hangers, a safe and then a small dressing room with drawers, makeup lighting, hair dryer and drawers. From there you enter the bathroom nicely appointed with two sinks, a jetted tub and an separate shower. Thick, absorbent bathrobes were provided as well. On the first formal night, imagine our surprise to find a corsage for each of us! Room service is available 24 hours a day which came in handy after a late return to the ship! Our cabin stewards were very attentive, every need met and fresh ice and a bowl of fruit awaited our return every afternoon! The young women in the Neptune Lounge provided every help as we needed, especially with booking shore excursions. They were cordial, professional yet very welcoming and helpful. I would highly recommend Holland America!

Cabin Review

Midship, near elevators but very quiet, virtually motion free. Close to the Neptune Lounge which is finely appointed.
