There are rare vacations where everything goes wonderfully; this vacation was the exception. We were extremely fortunate to experience some of the best summer weather Alaska has ever seen, but I think our experience aboard the Solstice was incredible. The service was second to none. We never lacked for things to do and the food was delicious. I particularly loved the modern feel of the dining room; elegant but not dated. I also appreciated the fact that we returned smarter than when we left. The daily lectures pertaining to Alaska wildlife were informative but entertaining at the same time. We were four to a cabin but never felt crammed.

The only real disappointment of the trip was the whale watching excursion. We paid way too much to see a few whale tails. I think we could have booked much cheaper on our own and seen more had we gone from Vancouver. There were children aboard this ship, but the Solstice is definitely not a kid centered ship. There is only one indoor pool and it is restricted to adults only.

I loved this vacation and am planning on cruising on Celebrity cruise ships again.
