Sail Date: Jun 2014

Well, I am just back after flying from Ireland to Heathrow (London) then a long flight to Calgary where I did a 8 day tour of the Rockies down to Vancouver and after two day boarded the Century to sail the Hubbard Glacier. Embarkation was quick and well organized. We were allowed on early even though our cabins were not ready for us.....the fact that the ship had full lunch service in the Island Restaurant meant that we could relax with a meal and coffee/tea/juices etc; and watch everyone else board! When the rooms were ready we were called and we found immaculate cabins and this remained throughout the cruise. The staff were courteous, remembered our names and went out of their way to assist - and this was all members of staff. The seas were calm and when we came to the Hubbard Glacier the sun was hot and we stayed approx. 2 hrs with the ship being turned a full 360 for everyone to have a great view.

Dress on ship was casual with only the 'Formal' nights needing a long sleeved shirt and tie for the men and something nice for the ladies ie skirt and matching blouse/frock etc; Now, some did do the full dinner jacket and ladies dressed with sequins etc; they were in the minority by far. Even on the Captains table there were gentlemen in lounge suits/trousers&jackets - so no need to worry about not having the correct dress. Jeans, shorts would not be acceptable.

The dining was lovely - great choices for all tastes. Waiter s gave first class attention. The Restaurant hostess matched couples for dining - we had a great table of four on 2 consecutive evenings, Heather and Florentina made the evening so special ( Vancouver ladies). We didnt sit with the same folks on any other nights and this made for great conversation and I would recommend booking 'flexi time' this allows for coming back later from the land excursions etc; We had an inner cabin which served us well as we were on deck every minute apart from sleeping!!!!

Cabin Review

Ideal location mid ship, not close to the lifts to be disturbed.
