It has been two years since my last cruise with Celebrity which was on this ship. How things have changed.
The food in the main dining room: The presentation has lost its wow factor. Menu very boring. Previously food has tasted fresh and now I have the feeling that most of it is cook/chill and just reheated on board - especially the vegetables. Where have the flowers gone? Where is the string quartet? (This is now a duo!!). The waiters also wore a different uniform for the evening.
The food in the Tuscan Grille was also disappointing - who ever heard of brown minestrone soup? Not worth the extra fee. The waitress wore a very dirty uniform.
How we missed being mobbed by the bar staff. The bar staff very quickly know who is on a drinks package. It could take 20 minutes to get a drink. We even waited 20 minutes for the waiter to ask what we ordered, and then we waited another 20 minutes for the drink to arrive. We did notice that those who paid for their drinks were served a lot quicker.
Prices for spa services have increased with far fewer special offers.
Our stateroom steward was the shining light on our cruise. Shaun and his assistant were always available and happy to chat. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
This was our seventh cruise on Celebrity and I shall think long and hard before booking again.
