We just returned from an extended trip after our Transatlantic cruise but wanted to share a few opinions of the Reflection. The ship is very attractive in a modern clean style. Our room was on deck three but music in the atrium was never heard in the room. Wonderful soundproofing of the rooms. They are also very spacious and the shower doors are a big improvement over most cruise ship bathrooms . The open atrium design really needs rethinking though. The library and hideaway, places where one gravitates to for quiet reading, share all the sounds of the atrium below. Dance class instructions, a rock and roll band, noisy contests, all ended up being broadcast into these rooms above. Beautiful and creative as the library and hideaway are, they sure aren't places you can hide away. A few other disappointments were the lack of a wrap around deck for walking and an extremely lame jogging/walking path in the middle of a deck full of people coming and going across the track.

Food in the Dining room was our main disappointment. Our table was great, our waiter was great, the room is beautiful but the entrees were poorly executed. There was a lack of flavor almost as if it was hospital food designed not to interfere with any dietary problem. Besides a lack of herbs and spices, some of the meat dishes were of poor quality, such as the steak Diane which hardly met Home Buffet standards. The chef seemed to lack imagination and a love of his craft and bland, substandard meals were the result. No home cook I know of would serve a side of carrots and green beans to accompany the main course night after night! They must have been on the plates 80% of the time! I must compliment Celebrity in offering very interesting "always available" choices. The escargot and creme brule were always delicious. Also, the layout and food choices in the buffet were excellent. I got more flavor upstairs than in the main dining room.

We had a very enjoyable cruise. The jazz band and big band nights were exceptional. The singer and fiddler were first class. The speakers were informative and entertaining. The Mac ipad classes were really great. The entertainment on this cruise was far better than we have found on other ships we've been on. It was mainly the food in the main dining room that was a disappointment. From Celebrity we expected more.

Cabin Review

Cabin Oceanview

Our ocean view cabin on deck three was well laid out with plenty of room. Even though it was near the atrium it was well soundproofed so we never heard the bands that played in the atrium. Loved the shower doors. I would book this room again.
