A good time

Sail Date: June 2014
Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean
Embarkation: Palma de Mallorca

Our flight from Manchester went well. We had checked in the week before at our local shop so we had our seats, so just had to go to baggage drop. We were on time leaving and landed early in Majorca . Our baggage came quickly so we were soon on the coach to the port. Check in was smooth and then we were on borad. We were escorted to our cabin which was an inside on deck 6. Sadly we were not impressed with it . It had a double bed with 2 drop down beds . As I am tall it did not leave much room to get round. We did go to reception but were told the ship was full. By the time we got back to our cabin our luggage had arrived. Unpacked and get ready to go to dinner. We always eat in the MDR at night . Shared a table with 2 other couples . At 2130hrs had to go to do lifeboat drill (which everyone as to do on first night before sailing) Then went back to finish dinner, then drinks in the Ocean Bar. Good bar men Rofino and Jamie.Breakfast was taken in Sirens . Buffet style. Got choice of food More hot or cold.Lunch was mostly taken in Sirens . Again good choice but sadly still no Ice cream to be had .We did find some days it was hard to get a wine waiter for a drink at lunch time in Sirens. On the Captains night we got an invite to sit at the Staff captains table ,but had to decline it as it was for the first sitting and that was far to early for us to eat( I think this was away of Thomson saying thank you for being returning customers( our 7th time on the Dream ) We got a very good waiter that evening Ging and Goupron ,Wine waiter Alvin . We stayed with them for the rest of the cruise and they looked after us well.It was very nice to see a lot of staff that remembered us from before Jun the bartender Waiter and waitresses Cel, Erika, Silvia, Christine Deney.

We do like the Dream very much Just the right size to get personal service and it looks like a ship not a floating block of Flats , but may be that is not for everyone. We had the independence of the sea by us on day and 2 people said oh you are on the tug.Going back to our cabin it was kept clean and tidy by Andrey and friendly young man. After our first week the captain went on leave and we got our German captain back even though he had retired . Some people love and some not so much . We love him. We have always had the drinks package before but this time no and our bill was a lot less than the £800 you pay for 2 wks for 2 people. All in all good cruise. I think that Thomson can be very proud of their staff . It is them that bring passenger back again. Weather was good as for excursions we normally do our own thing Less
