Sail Date: May 2014

For our third cruise(all with Royal Caribbean)we opted to sail on Allure Of The Seas from Port Everglades,Florida. This was our first time visiting the U.S.A and was the furthest we've ever been from Home(u.k).We opted to Fly/Cruise with our usual travel Agents on an official R/C package with an extended Miami stay at the end of the Cruise. We flew Virgin Atlantic London Heathrow on a 747-400,all very exciting and enjoyed a nice flight arriving in to M.I.A on time.We were transfered via airconditioned S.U.V to our 'overnight'Hotel which was the Sheraton Beach Hotel Ft.Lauderdale.This was a lovely stay especially as we were offered a complimentary upgrade to 'Oceanview;on arrival,Great! After dining in the famous Wreck Bar we got our heads down after a long day's travelling and looked forward to the next week Sailng on Allure the biggest Cruise Ship at Sea!

We boarded Allure in approx 35 mins from our arrival at Port Everglades, pretty remarkable given the numbers of people involved in boarding such a big ship.First impressions were such a clean, pretty ship and Yes Big to boot but we never felt crowded apart from Elevators at Show-ending times, then we did have to wait but mostly we enjoyed the various themed 'zones' with a stroll and found all crew very hard-working,helpful and friendly. Our Board walk balcony cabin 10329 was picked by myself some two years previous for it's 'end' positioning giving great views over the aft of the ship, wake and Aqua Theatre. This was a great cabin at a fairly low cost, recommended. The sliding door thankfully cut out most if not all of any instrusive show audio, day or night. The long walk to our cabin was a blessing to burn off all those calories we had put on with the food we enjoyed,We opted for My-time dining again, tips pre-paid and once again opted for a 'cash'account in dollars. This works for us and although we are drinkers we decided not to opt for the premium drinks packages but to get a few drinks daily and not overspend.

Allure is in fine shape,we tried most of the free dining options, the only premium thing we bought was a Steak upgrade one night, nice but with food so good in the dining room why go and spend extra when the cruise and flights have already incurred significant funds? We found our waiting staff to be funny, hard working guys who enjoyed a laugh, what's not to like about that,Royal Caribbean has always had great staff,Allure did not let us down.If you expect gourmet quality you may be dissapointed but on the whole we enjoyed the food and if any dish was lacking we were soon offered a replacement, bravo!

Cabin Review

A long, narrow cabin we fond the layout ideal(bed is near sliding balcony door).tv GOOD,BATHROOM SMALL BUT FUNCTIONAL(SHOWER ONLY).Well furnished the best thing about this room is the location offering brilliant views of aft of the ship including wake,Aqua Shows etc.Sliding door cuts out noise well.bed very comfy and big!
