Sixth cruise on the Summit and she still can strut her stuff. Never been to Bermuda before but wish we had been there sooner. Cruising primarily the Caribbean, Bermuda was a clean, hassle-free destination.
The Summit, even though not a new ship or a big ship still fits our bill. Great service from stem to stern, good food and professional team. We are fortunate to have booked a suite that had a delightful balcony and a room with extra square footage. Semi-private balcony but big enough for chaise lounges and full sun! Room 6131 folks-it's a peach for the money.
The Mrs. had a need for replacement contact lenses and we had them shipped Fed Ex to Bermuda, finding their way to the Summit with no problem. That's service.
Celebrity provide a slightly more cerebral experience than the Carnivals of the world so be prepared for a more sedate experience. There are activities to amuse but minus all of the hustle, bustle and somewhat left-of-center behavior you'll find on other cruise ships. The Summit is the ship for relaxation, book reading and quality time with your loved ones.
Bermuda has absolutely drop dead gorgeous beaches that have sand, surf and rock outcroppings. This destination seems to not make some of the top charts, maybe because of its isolation, but this island can run with any other, if not excel past. It is also nice being in port 3 days and not having to rush back to the ship. That in and of itself was added relaxation!
Also of note, we did the Dolphin Quest excursion and although pricey, is a once in a life experience that should make the bucket lists. The added benefit of their lofty fees going towards the research and protection of marine life makes it a "feel good" or "environmentally friendly" place to spend your hard-earned dollars.
Good job Celebrity Summit-we'll be back for sure!
