Embarkation was efficient. In only a few minutes from arriving at the pier we were in our room welcomed with a bottle of cold champaign. Our luggage appeared in a couple of hours.
The food was the best of any previous cruises (all on Princess). The breakfasts both in the buffet and the dining rooms were excellent. Lots of variety and good tasting. The fruit was especially tasty. Same with lunches. We were a party of 8 and after a couple of nights, it was automatic that we were seated at "our table" with Enrique and Aartee as our servers. They were fantastic. Most dinners were really good. The variety (changed menu each night as well as a list of same offerings each night) made it so there was always something we liked. If we didn't like a particular item they quickly replaced it.
We bought the specialty restaurant package of 3 restaurants. Murano and Tuscan were out of this world. However Silk (Asian) was not to our liking. We were very disappointed that night. Service wad good but the food just did not meet our expectations. All 8 of us felt that way. But overall the food gets an A rating.
The entertainment started a bit weak, but got better as the cruise went on. The finale by the ship's singers and dancers was incredible. Some of the guest entertainers (like the mime) not so much!
They really oversold upgrading to the specialty restaurants. This became annoying after a while. Wish they would back off after a couple of days of pushing them.
The crew members and officers were very friendly and welcoming all through the cruise. And even the Captain would stop and visit with passengers, a very nice gesture.
Overall a great cruise. The weather was perfect and ship never swayed at all. Sometimes we wished for a little rock and rollin! We are cruising on Celebrity in a couple of months to Alaska and booked a Scandinavian cruise for next year while on board. They benefits you receive are exceptional, so for a $200 deposit, it is like a no brainier to book a future cruise that can be changed or cancelled down the road.
