We travelled as a family of four with two toddlers with friends also having two toddlers.
Embarkation at Venice a disaster. Pushing, queue jumping and unfriendly staff.
Kids club, good and bad - heres the good. One child aged 5 very happy to attend but has English and Italian languages so could understand. The bad - other 3 screamed and hated every bit. The staff don't settle the children in and just let them wander about. Staff English poor so children did not understand what was going on. We could not enjoy our holiday fully as we could not leave our children in kids club knowing they were miserable and upset.
Food quality poor. Buffet one big free for all. Breakfast absolute chaos. Lucky to find a table if in a group more than four. Gala nights - staff could not cope in the main restaurants. Waited both nights over an hour to be fed. (with children not good) Also staff had very poor English and every single time we ordered something we got something else.
Around the pool - Everyday we went to get a sun lounger and they were always reserved. We even witnessed two people arguing over sun loungers. Be warned - get up early and do what they do. Reserve four or 5 chairs and you might get lucky. Also its very noisy around the pool.
Bar - we had the algrissimo package. Excellent value we felt. However, trying to get drinks at the bar around the pool took almost 20mins. Everyone seemed to have the package also.
We have cruised over 20 times with and without children. We would not recommend this cruise line to anyone we know. Staff are very unfriendly, don't seem to care either way. In comparison to other cruise lines they need a lesson in how to smile and at least make you feel welcome. It is ok for familys - try carnival instead (better kids club) we did last year and it was a lot better. For couples try Royal Carr, Holland America, Celebrity
