Ship Facts: Carnival Sunshine Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Sunshine Deck Plans
Carnival Sunshine 5/30/14 thur 6/07/14

This was about sailing on the Sunshine not really about the ports, been to these ports before.

Let’s start with the embarkation we walked right on once we checked in grant it we platinum so very quick at checking. The balcony was nice, but no mini-refrigerator in the cabin? I believe in the past whether we booked interior, ocean-view or balcony we had a mini-frig? Our cabin steward was great; he kept our Ice bucket full and put a bucket for the wine. Nice size shower, but the rest of the restroom was tight; the door couldn’t be opened if seated or if someone was at the sink.

The Cloud 9 Spa was short changed during the upgrade “No” Thalassotherapy pool  it does have Thermal suite, the laconium dry steam and two steam rooms one is aroma therapy and the other one is oriental steam. Last minute booking so no cloud 9 spa room where available, we brought the couples pass for $149.00 for the 8 days.

The Signature Dining was amazing; we loved the Cucina del Capitano, Jiji’s Asian kitchen and of course the steakhouse. The food and service where well worth it the $12.00 p.p. charge for Cucina’s and Jiji’s. The steakhouse is $35.00p.p. I would highly recommend it lots of fantastic food. We did not get to the sushi restaurant, but other we talked with said it was good. They also had a self-serve beer tap by the pizza/deli on the lido deck restaurant and self-serve wine bar in the library (We did not try either of these) maybe next time.

The 3 levels of the Serenity deck where very nice, although there is only one hot tub, the pool with waterfall was beautiful and it seemed to have plenty of lounges.

We didn’t go to the theater shows, because we had seen the shows before, and others had said the theater was small. Which we found out for ourselves during the past guest party it was full, when we arrived 5 minutes after the party was to start ended up with a seat on the upper level and got a piece of salmon and one beer each. Not like parties it the pass.

All the other 2.0 upgrades where great: Alchemy bar (Our Favorite), Guy’s burgers, Sea-day brunch, Blue iguana café and Punch-liners.
